Wingate also cites a few things that prove that secondary schools do not prepare their students enough to cope and have a smooth transition into the tertiary level education. Wingate seems to focus mostly on the aspect of argumentation. According to the study done , in Wingate’s journal, there was a lot of controversies whenever students were subjected on a simple test asking them to define what an argument is (Wingate).
