Another artwork of Marcel Duchamp I visualized goes by the name” American Trees in the summer”. I viewed it in Gallery 1 at Arkansas University located at Little Rock. `The art work I viewed has six color strips and possesses a vertical organization. Additionally, It is made of vertically placed floral fabric It has three squares on the left hand side, each possessing different theme. They all aligned in a vertical direction and have background colors which are unique to each of them, and the colors are arranged in a descending order starting with Orange, green and finally red. He uses the intense color to emphasize the subject on the space (two-dimensional) hence making it visually appealing. In my view, the line appears to have been formed from a pastel medium, with its appearance, which appears less solid.

Organic shapes are used to depict the flowers hence bringing forward an iris illusion and additionally these flowers. The artist is very simple in his general utilization of shape and color, while staying true to each flower’s nature. I can see that the flowers appear to overlap the squares present on the left hand side, seemingly on the flowers’ top because stems are visibly seen on the side. Duchamp uses many types of media in his artwork pies for instance silkscreen, oil, paint, pastel, and fabric. This illustrates how the artist is adapted to working in a variety of media. Silkscreen method is used in applying the subjects on the left side located squares. He carefully plans his usage of line thus indicating the high precision the artist has.

It can also be seen how the artist carefully applies the background of the green and red squares. The green square is also beautifully crafted because it has males moving with a ball, which clearly illustrates motion. In essence, both the scene action and green color implies the meaning “go”. There is a rose in the red square, which is mostly associated with color red by most people. He has however used the rose in this case to mean an entirely different thing despite using the square items to portray spotlight theory. This means that red color of the rose does not entirely signify stop sign as it would have been in the spotlight case. On the backdrop, he thoughtfully conveys the imagery of the intense arrangement of flowers with incredible bright colors and size.
