Three characters in the Odyssey that I like

He used this as a way of gaining knowledge of the people’s character. I like Athena who lied to hide her identity. She lied so that she could persuade Telemachus so that he could take action towards his father and then get back home for the sake of his mother. These two charismas took disguise, none of them had evil objectives; that is causing harm to anybody although they all lied for the sake of their gain. This paper will look into three characters that likable and reasons behind it. The lies that he had told people used them for masking his identity and for his own benefit. I loved how Odysseus lies Athena as he doesn’t want to reveal his identity.

When he saw Athena at first she didn’t look like a true goddess form. She appears like a simple shepherd of the land. Therefore, he didn’t want to disclose any of his information to anyone unless he feels that he can trust them. This action made Zeus angry and he sent hurricane that destroyed the ship killing all the people except Odysseus. The lie and unfaithfulness of the Eurylochus were out of hunger. His intention cannot be said to be severe as it is natural and it is human instinct to search for food when they are hungry. Therefore, to some point, Eurylochus should not be blamed since he wanted to satisfy his hunger and that of other people.
