Document 1

Recently, I have noticed an event of bullying by the senior students who happen to make the school life of some specific junior student intolerable. The decision about whether to report the matter to the school administration involves a significant ethical dilemma. This report examines an example of a bully student and how actions to correct or lack of actions can shape the future of such a student. Although bullying is a serious problem that devastates both the victim and the perpetrator, it is important to develop meticulous means of dealing with the problem. Reporting Reduces Indiscipline Reporting a bully student will prevent the indiscipline from reaching a level where it has devastating impacts on the bullied students as well as the bully.

Bullying has equally destructive impacts on the students who intimidate others. The students who bully others carry the same risky and violent behaviors into adulthood. Indiscipline is connected to abuse of drugs including alcohol (Smith & Thompson, 2017). Also, they are likely to participate in early sexual activity and criminal activities. Additionally, those who engage in bullying others are abusive to their romantic partners, children, and spouses (Kupchik & Farina, 2016). However, this may fail to capture the psychological impact of such behavior. The Effects of Suspension A suspension will be the only solution where the principal feels that other modes of punishment have failed on a bully student. A suspension may extend over several weeks, and the students involved in bullying will be forced to stay outside the classroom for that specific period.

A suspension will result in the involved students missing important classes resulting in poor performance in the coming exams. Also, suspension may contribute to significant expenses related with the parents having to travel to school (Rigby, 2017). Though there are significant personal costs that an individual may experience, it is imperative to report the matter since it would also improve the health of the affected students. The principal may require the bullied students to see a psychologist for counseling, and it is the first step in improving their mental wellbeing. Reporting would also provide a starting point of change for the undisciplined students, and it would prevent them from repeating the same mistake to others (Rigby, 2017). When the principal gets aware of the current trend in school, he may start training programs for the teachers to get familiarized on the means to identify students who may be victims of bullying.
