Treatment of Veterans after Deployment and PTSD

Subject Area:Nursing

Document 1

Some of the issues of concern for the veterans was the consequences of the high rates of military sexual assault, high unemployment rates, and veteran suicide rates. The challenges are experienced despite the numerous programs instituted by the relevant bodies. The DOD and VA have long been requested to make policy changes to test changes that can bring effective treatment (Ghaffarzadegan, Ebrahimvandi, & Jalali, 2016). Examples include the recommendation that both agencies should change their definition of family to include same-sex partners, single parents, and unmarried partners. There is also a call for the DOD and VA to integrate and link their databases to share data and track personal problems more efficiently. References Cooper, L. , Andrew, S. , & Fossey, M.
