PSYCHOANALYTIC THEORY Name: Institution Affiliation: Sigmund Freud Psychoanalytic Theory As a challenge to the interpretive approaches and incumbent directive of both behavioral and psychoanalysis therapies Sigmund Freud Theory has revived the method of counseling theory and practice. According to this theory humans mind is inherently driven by irrational forces and unconscious motivations to a different conduct and performance. (Arlow et al. 1995. pp. 18—19). He believed that the decisions we make in life are determined by both biological and instinctual drives. As conceptualized by Freud Sigmund Freud’s theory has positively transformed people’s lives globally. With that in mind therefore the focus of this paper is to discuss how this intervention model could be applied on a client suffering from possible depression and anxiety and help her essential positively transform her life. Discussion Paper R aged 34-year is a female Caucasian carpenter residing in a rural park in Oklahoma. R. autonomous with the capacity to counter their problems realize their potential and transform their lives positively. It focuses on individuals’ ability to create changes in their personality and to strive for self-actualization. However getting client’s greatest concerns is not easy and worse still it’s hard for the clients to seek professional help. But with Freud’s principles the clients can realize their concerns and be ready to share. And as such collaborating through this therapeutic process with R should help her understand the positive steps to take towards healthy relationships and to ease her depression and anxiety.
