The common causes of fatal injuries among the adolescents according to CDC are injuries resulting from drowning, burns, falls poisoning and road traffic accidents (CDC, 2016). The impact of these preventable injuries is a total of over 12000 deaths annually and 9. 2 million emergency visits (CDC, 2015). Males are more susceptible to fatal injuries compared to girl’s majority of which are as a result of transportation-related injuries. The topic for the prevention of adolescent and childhood injury will be “prevention of road traffic injuries”. Intervention The education session will utilize didactic methods to pass information to the participants using graphics such as images to ensure and promote remembrance of content among the groups. Practical sessions on the correct use and buckling of seat belts and helmets will be conducted with return demonstrations.
