Moreover, there are also other ways in which the formulation of Critically Appraised Topics can be approached. Besides answering a formal clinical question from a real clinical situation, Critically Appraised Topics can also be developed from appraising recently published clinical articles that are used as evidence. There are various reasons for performing critically appraised topics (CATs) and developing Critically Appraised Papers (CAPS). However, the primary reason is tied to the urgency experienced by clinicians to make evidence-based decision making with an objective of answering a recent clinical question. There are various limitations to the application of rather a usage of the CATs.
