This can be made possible through the provision of sources of power. In order to state the sources of power that I as the manager of the new combined units is successful, Mintzberg three category roles that define the powers and roles of a manager in an organization. The first source of power is the interpersonal roles that I will be implemented within the newly merged unit. Within these roles, the manager is expected to be the figurehead, the leader and a liaison officer for the newly merged organization unit (Mintzberg, n. d. In this category, the manager is allowed to act as an entrepreneur, a disturbance handler, a resource allocator and the negotiator (Mintzberg, n. d). This source of power allows me as the manager to make a critical decision with regards to the newly merged units within the organization.
