Thus, public perceptions of criminal justice depend on the way media has portrayed it in the whole country. This paper will explore the accuracy of media portrayal on criminal justice operations. It will further discuss the effect of various television shows such as CSI on public perceptions and expectation on justice system agents. Once criminal activities such as the mass killing of innocent citizens that was carried out by Osama Bin Landen, mass media plays a key role in exposing how society has achieved criminal justice to control such acts. Various researchers have established that, media has been on the forefront in ensuring that there is criminal justice through the following ways, (Kappeler & Potter, 2017). According to Kappeler & Potter (2017), in their research found that many prosecutors complain that television programs such as CSI have made their job to be harder.

This is because public members have high expectation on the high technology that the justice system agents should incorporate when conducting their investigation relating to criminal suspects. It has been observed that such programs give of how high technology such as the use of DNA to carry out a criminal related investigation which is faster and accurate, (Rhineberger‐Dunn et al, 2017). But in a real sense, it is impossible to carry out DNA investigation within a couple of hours. Such programs also show how justice agent systems can make use of highly advanced machines on technology to determine whether a given suspect was involved in a given crime, (Rhineberger‐Dunn et al, 2017).
