The poet indicates that time is not on us and it is moving away. He analogizes this withholding sand with the hand and trying to keep it in vain. This enumerates that existence is a general issue. The poem has twenty-four verses. The poet has a lot of dispiritedness that he possesses in great depths. There is a couple in the poem and a triplet that is found in the first stanza. The midst theme is present s in the last verse. The poet alludes that the existence of the people in this world is segmented. The poem tries to explain the perceptions that exist in life to the differences that exist in our takes on life. In the course of the poem, he enumerates a human life slipping away, which is life, is dripping off like sand.

The acts are juxtaposed in the following ways; the poem starts from a solemn though calm farewell that resonates to a passionate second stanza of the affairs. Even though the first half indicates a thoughtful agreement, the second half that takes place at the seashore has expletive scenes, for example, 'ooo' God. It also has anguish exclamations that are accompanied by queries that are rhetoric. They show that the narrator is filled with a lot of torment. Though there are apparent differences in the two stanzas, they are connected by the irony that brings their evanescent characteristics. This makes the creation of patterns that resonates the ideas used. The last stanza is similar is the first half and the second half.
