The war-and-peace metaphor song tends to convey an inarguable and straightforward message about the need for world peace by illustrating the ways war interferes with the routine lives of individuals. The song is based on a true story. The promo video of this song depicts the 1914 extraordinary event on Christmas day after the German and British soldiers united in no man’s land to celebrate this special day. The song was written in 1983 after the original story went underground for several years. This song was released in October, the same year, which was a perfect timing because the country was facing threats of nuclear war and the cold war following the September 1st attack of the Korean airlines' flight 007 by the Soviet Union (Von 353).
