Many institutions have established policies and academic regulations that allows expansion of students who record poor academic performance, basically below 2. 0 GPA. Persistence in academic failing indicates incompetence in the students’ learning programming indicating that the student does not qualify for that particular course or is experiencing an academic problem, which may be influenced by different social, psychological, mental, or financial factors that an institution should address and respond toward it1. This would have been prevented is the institutions’ management would have shown seriousness in the student performance by discontinuing those students recording persistent academic failure. The idea of student expansion due to failing is however opposed in the claim that the student has invested in education and the institution should ensure all it takes to make sure every student completes his/her learning session. This may however not possible as the university policies do not allow the institutions to generate incompetent graduates.
