Keep 1 focus or main idea per slide. ◦Limit bullets points and text. No more than 4-5 points on a slide. ◦No more than 6-7 words per line. ◦Avoid all caps ◦Use bold, underline, italics for sparingly for emphasis 2.Don’t expect the slide to carry the weight of your presentation. ◦Slides are used to give main ideas and points. ◦Think of the slide as a visual aid or reference page for the audience. 3.Don’t use images unless they are professional looking and serve a clear purpose. 4.Use charts and graphs sparingly and if you do, make sure to highlight important relationships or points for the audience. ◦Don’t expect the audience to grasp a chart or table or graph on their own 5.Build in transitions between slides. ◦What are you going to say as you move from 1 slide to the next? 6.Keep the slides the same theme/look. 7.Use dark text on a light background so the text is easy to read
