Human development and religion

I have 4 little discussions and I need a response for every discussion. Each discussion can be about 40 to 45 words. Part 1 DISCUSSION 1 Luke focuses in on women, who were second-class citizens during that time. Luke places special emphasis on the Holy Spirit and on prayer. There are a lot of powerful parables in Luke: The Good Samaritan (10:25–37), The Rich Fool (12:13–21), The Prodigal Son (15:11–32), The Rich Man and Lazarus (16:19–31), The Persistent Widow (18:1–8), and The Pharisee and the Tax Collector (18:9–14) “But who do you say that I am?” There are thousands of people who believe that the Bible is God’s Word. They seek to obey its moral standards. They believe in Jesus’ virgin birth. They believe that He sacrificed His life to set us free from sin and death and that all who put their faith in Jesus can have their sins forgiven and receive everlasting life. Ultimately, we must stand with Jesus who came as God’s Anointed Son to bear our sins, who was raised in triumph over sin and death, who calls us to follow Him in obedience to the will of the Father. As Peter later preached, “God has made Him both Lord and Christ—this Jesus whom you crucified” (Act 2:36). * DISCUSSION 2 *Luke 7-12 picture Jesus as a healer and a philosopher. His wisdom is spread throughout the country. Everyone awaits Jesus’s arrival so he can heal more. Luke 8:26 As he stepped out on land, a man of the city who had demons met him. For a long time he had worn no clothes, and he did not live in a house but in the tombs. 28 When he saw Jesus, he fell down before him. Demons were afraid of him and begging to enter another host. Jesus continues to spread his blessing of healing and forgiveness of sins teaching examples of love. His healing have made him famous and many are falling to his feet asking to be healed rather spiritually or physically. He heals as many as he sees or feels, he is like a walking Miracle Doctor that judges no one and loves all friend or enemy. •What is Jesus aiming for when he asks his disciples, “But who do you say that I am?” in Luke 9:20? How does Jesus challenge or defy expectations? When Jesus asks his disciples “ But who do you say that I am “ he challenges the perspective of his disciples . How strong is their faith? Do they view him as a miracle healer ? Are they afraid of the miracles they have witnessed. Even when Jesus is foretelling his death and resurrection, he tells those who do believe to walk and suffer along side him. If they have true faith they will believe in his word. PART 2 DISCUSSION 3 I chose the social/emotional stage of development. This stage is important because it allows humans at a young age to become aware of their emotions and other human interaction. This can relate to anxiety, sadness, difficult children and so forth. A few strategies that can parents/caregivers can do are: -Give lots of affection -Keeping a close eye on child's emotions/actions -Therapy can help -Home life is huge. Growing up in a positive, supportive, loving, home can make all the difference. Having a support system is key to children growing up feeling secure and loved. Along with these ideas, they can help by: -More affection can help an infant feel loved, secure, wanted. The book says that if a child feels these things, they can trust that parent. -Observing can be to make sure anything that my be out of the ordinary will be noticed and can hopefully lead to getting help if needed. -I've done therapy as an adult, but for kids it can also help to find ways to cope for the child as well as the parents. I think that a lot of these things tie into time and putting in effort for your child I know a lot of kids whose parents work and have been absent and they grow up seeking that attention from other people and it can cause dangerous behaviors. Time is a valuable thing that cannot be brought back and I think its hard nowadays with parents having to work and whatnot and having to use childcare which doesn't give out the same amount of love as a parent could give. DISCUSSION 4 *Physical development is very important. Even before the baby is born pre-natal visits are recommended not only for the mother but also for the unborn baby. With Ultra Sounds Doctors can make sure the babies fetal development is going well and help detect and abnormalities early one. With today’s technology, fetal heart surgery can be completed in the womb. By making sure that the baby is developing well take first starts in the womb, but physical development continues on through the rest of their lives as well. Malnutrition or a poor diet is often associated with illness. According to the reading, “Two life-threatening conditions that can result from malnutrition are marasmus and kwashiorkor.” (Santrock 117). Marasus is the wasting away of body tissue due to severe protein-calorie deficiency. Kwashiorkor is when an infant losses muscle tissue and are severely underweight. This can cause damage to the vital organs and causes their hair to become thin and brittle as well as their bones as well as other physical impairments. If it is not fatal than it can have huge impacts on their cognitive and social development. To prevent this, it is important to provide good nutrition as well as education on what is good nutrition. Taking your child to the pediatrician is recommended. If funds of food are scarce, look for outreach programs such as WIC to help provide the nourishment need to help the child grow strong.
