TASK DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENT:
Students are required to write a 2,000-word individual report based on the set research topic. Students will be assessed on the following abilities and skills: ability to recognise, critically analyse and discuss the key issues in the topic, providing supporting examples where appropriate; ability to appropriately use reference material in support of arguments; quality of the sources of information used; and referencing skills (e.g. establishing linkages amongst the sources used within the written report).
Chicago Referencing style must be used. Assignments that are unsatisfactorily referenced will not be marked and the students concerned will be notified. The use of at least 12 different academic sources are expected, to support the arguments and discussion. The use of WIKIPEDIA online encyclopaedia as a source of referencing is not accepted.
Students should be prepared to draw perspectives from different sources; and evaluate relevant scholarly perspectives pertaining to each issue covered.
The report must have the following sections: Introduction, Main Body (with sub-sections/headings), Conclusion and Recommendations and Reference List. It is necessary to include a cover page that states student name , student ID. and the total word count.
