Hamlet sane or insane british literature essay
Hamlet and his sanity can be argued in many ways. In his play, Hamlet, Shakespeare explores two ways that are mentioned for the options of "his loss of control in his activities or his potential of dramatic art" (Hamlet's Madness). Whenever we first attained Hamlet he is in a state of despair. He's an emotional son who is fighting the death of his dad. His life is now consumed by depressive disorder. This to me is normal, for somebody who has endured a lost, of someone dear to her or him, as was his dad. Through his representation of Hamlet's individual aspect, Shakespeare conveys the idea that a damage in someone's life can result in insanity. "She hitched. O, most wicked velocity dexterity to incestuous sheets"(I. ii. 162-163). Along with the fatality of his daddy, comes his mother's, Gertrude, second relationship.
