In the current time, Nike has several operational strategies that ensure that the daily today activities in the company are running smoothly. These operational strategies specify how the organizations support their infrastructure and production through resource allocation. With proper resource allocation, production can be maximized. Proper planning ensures that materials are available when required and that the resources are used optimally to avoid any wastage. Nike has been setting an example in the market as one of the companies that applies the triple-bottom-line approach in its operation. However, the company adopted several strategies that ensure that employee right and the working conditioned were improved. Nike operations management addresses the application of total quality management (TQM) and high levels of quality standards throughout its production of equipment and sports shoes. Locational Strategy Nike's locational strategy is to optimize efficiency and costs through being close to the target market, employees and suppliers. Supply chain management The supply chain of Nike is very excellent in such a way that it provides efficient production to support all global equipment and shoes. In this section, the operation management is geared to make sure all tasks are aligned with the company’s strategic plan. With Nike, the supply chain is automated to ensure optimization of transport distances between production facilities, suppliers, retailers and distributors of the company. Also, Nike's supply chain is coordinately closely with the distribution and retails operation to ensure proper scheduling of the goods.

With proper scheduling and automation of processes, the supply chain schedules are adjusted according to the market conditions. Nike has adopted better working practices for its employees with the provision on numerous benefits and better working conditions. Nike has pioneered sustainable infrastructure in the industry whereby all its incoming shipment of shoes is brought in by canals instead of using trucks which cause pollution. This entire infrastructure runs on renewable energy. In the production centers, turbines and solar panels are used to produce power. Also thermal systems are used to heat and store warm water that is heated in winter and gets used in summer when the seasons change. By saving on such cost, an organization can make huge saving and thus further their profits.
