In the Christian view, there are different forms of ethical dilemmas. Some of the ethical dilemmas found in Christianity are pornography, abortion, euthanasia, religious tolerance and many more. Therefore, among the very many forms of ethical dilemmas in Christianity, this paper is tailored to focus on Euthanasia as a form of ethical dilemma in Christianity. Ethical Dilemma An example of an ethical dilemma is that of Euthanasia. Basically, Euthanasia is mercy killing. "The Bible identifies God as our Creator, "the source of life. " (Psalm 36:9; Acts 17:28) In God's eyes, life is very precious. For this reason, God condemns both taking the life of another and taking one's own life. (Exodus 20:13; 1 John 3:​15) Additionally, the Bible indicates that we should take reasonable precautions to protect our own life and the lives of others.

(Deuteronomy 22:8) Clearly, God wants us to value the gift of life". The commandment serves as a baseline for decision making in Christians when they are faced with euthanasia dilemma. ("Euthanasia — How Do Christians Respond? - Faith Facts"). Currently, a lot of medical discoveries have been made and drugs that ease pain have been discovered in the process. As a resolution to euthanasia, suffering Christians should opt for drugs that reduce pain instead of recommending euthanasia to themselves. This will reduce the pain as they continue with treatment with a hope that they will heal from what is ailing them. It allows doctors to have more time in trying to treat the patient which can lead to the discovery of a new way to treat the patient.

It also presents the patient with a chance to lead a positive life where he or she can be helped by counsellors to accept the situation and live with it. ("BBC - Religions - Christianity: Euthanasia") Comparison Scientism presents a different perspective on euthanasia compared to Christianity. According to Richard 2016 in the article "Does Science Sanction Euthanasia or Physician-Assisted Suicide?" outlines that euthanasia was supported by many scientists as assisted suicide and they also proposed killing of people who had disabilities. Killing people with disabilities were used to ensure that the disability traits were not passed on to the next generation. As a Christian Joni would not be granted her wish for euthanasia but scientifically, she stood a chance of being assisted to commit suicide.
