” Marks gospel identifies Jesus as the Messiah who suffers on behalf of humanity. The Gospel of Mark aimed at encouraging the Christians from Rome and the church as a whole. In Matthew’s gospel (Brodd, Little & Nystrom, 414) Jesus reveals the true meaning of the Torah according to Moses. Luke’s gospel explains Jesus compassion for sinners, the poor, women and those who are sick. The final Gospel of John emphasizes the divinity of Jesus. Finally, the Gospel of John is persuasive (Brodd, Little & Nystrom, 418). It gives the miracles Jesus performed and those who believed in Him could have everlasting life. Jesus as the cosmic Son of God had the power to destroy all the works of the devil. Interestingly, Mark begins with the baptism of Jesus’, Luke the birth of Jesus, Matthew with Abraham in the generations down to Jesus, but John refers his Gospel to the beginning.

The significance of the Gospels in a Christian’s Life Christians are able to get and understand the full picture of Jesus Christ The different authors of the Gospels had a distinct purpose from the gospel and through execution of the purposes; they all emphasized the various aspects of the ministry and person of Jesus Christ. Christians are able to verify the truth of the accounts objectively. The different gospels confirm the accuracy of the information regarding Jesus Christ. Moreover, Christians understand that God rewards those who diligently seek Him. Matthew Gospel contains a Narrative history, parables, genealogy, sermons, and some prophetic oracles. The author of the book is Matthew the Levi who was a disciple of Jesus Christ (Brodd, Little & Nystrom, 422) Other leaders include pilate and Pharisees the religious leaders and they were trying to hinder Jesus’ mission.

The last chapters are relevant in fulfilling prophecies such as crucifixion with two robbers and Judas betrayal. At the about thirty years of age, Jesus left to Judean wilderness and he was baptized at River Jordan by John the Baptist. John the Baptist warned people of God’s imminent judgment and he called on them to repent and be baptized with water as there will come one who will baptize them with Holy Spirit. There is a manifestation as a voice from heaven declared “ This is my beloved son, with whom I am well pleased Matthew 3:17. During the ministry of Jesus, in Galilee, Jesus Christ performed healing and miracles as a manifestation of the presence of God is with Him. He was crucified in exchange of a thief (Brodd, Little & Nystrom, 427).
