McCabe (2008) indicates that the rate of drugs use among different races in American was Whites 38. 6 % for African Americans and 27. 5 for Hispanic. However, despite the indifferences, Blacks at the state level are 6. 5 times more likely to be incarcerated that their White counterparts. The federal system is likely to impose a sentence 20 times longer among the Blacks as it does to the Whites (American Civil Liberty Union, 2014). Even when the Blacks and Whites have been arrested for similar offenses, the Blacks will serve longer sentences than the Whites.
