Future of Politics in Texas

The argument will be drawn from the political competition evident in Texas particularly by examining the trend of dominance among the two famous political parties, the Democrat and the Republican. The political party history in Texas can be traced to 1870s to 1970s after the Republican dominance in running post-civil war reconstruction supported by the Democrats.

Additionally, the white conservatives realized that the Democrat party was drifting away from conservative to liberalism policies. This made them quit the party too. The Republican resume the popularity as a result, also, their interest in supporting the south also gave them a backup (Haynes & Wintz 452). Previously, Texas State used to be painted blue, meaning it was entirely Democrats, this was evident as previous governors of the state were mainly of the democrat party.
