Relative Deprivation Theory and Colombian Government
The struggle between these two conflicting groups has led to the suffering of innocent civilians depriving their quality life. Since the outcome of the war is costly, the destruction of property and lack of enough resources have deprived the Colombian citizens to enjoy social, political, and economic amenities. This paper seeks to focus on the Colombia government as one of the main stakeholders and the relative deprivation theory. The relative deprivation theory proposes that people examine their current situation and compare it with the status of other groups to determine whether they have been deprived of any economic, social, or political benefits (Smith & Pettigrew, 2015). People can also analyze their current status in relevance to the different points of time to evaluate whether their circumstances have been deprived or improved.
