Many people, therefore, are always liable or have high chances of getting death penalties which are allowed constitutionally in many states in the US. Some of the crimes that deserve capital punishment or death penalty include mass murder, treason, murder, genocide, terrorism, a crime against humanity and crimes against the state. Criminals who are sentenced to death are always considered very dangerous and harmful as they cannot be given points of doubts because of the seriousness of their crimes (Lambert and Clarke 2004). However, capital punishment is abolished in some countries following philosophies and critics that it is against human rights and no one deserves to be killed despite their crimes. It is, therefore, a controversial issue in many countries. This is because the fallacy that most crimes in the society can be prevented through the death penalty does not put into account some of the important crime factors such as economic and social factors.

Moreover, most of the criminals do not always intend to be caught with their offenses. The death penalty is also supported because it acts as a deterrent to crime. Some criminal activities are considered serious and deserve capital punishment to make the society a better place where people can live in. It is therefore justified from various studies that there is a link between executions and reduced murder cases in the nation (Berlatsky 2010). Many crimes have different degrees and can be judged and sentenced according to their degrees of crime. There are some criminal cases which are very serious or severe that attracts serious punishments such as death penalties. People who commit a crime, therefore, deserve equal punishment to their crimes.

For example ion a case of a homicide, such criminals deserve to be executed to make the society a better place. Retribution is equated to revenge which implies that an action is taken on another person to repay for their acts equally. Moreover, some criminals are considered to deserve the death penalty if they have committed several crimes over the years and become state enemies. Such criminals are always high profile criminals who have connections with other governments and have committed high profile cases without being caught. In the United States, some criminals are in the most wanted lists for a very long time and are still moving to commit other severe crims in the country; such criminals deserve to be punished severely by sentencing them to death.
