Pierre Auguste Renoir and Berthe Morisot Art Comparison
With notable works such a the cradle and After Lunch, she rose to levels not reached before by female artists of her time. Pierre Auguste Renoir and Berthe Morisot are both reknown authors of their time, known to bring to paintings depicting day to day lives of the people and the environment in their time. Their paintings were mainly impressions of real life situations and imageries, which went a long way in describing how people lived at the time, and the different lyfestyles they had. Despite the many different pieces of work they produced over the years, Renoir’s Pont des Arts and Morisot’s A Villa By The Sea are two notable pieces of art, with both differences and similarities that make these two works easily relatable.
A person with an artistic eye will note such striking similarities yet so many differences, that only a close look will differentiate them. Another aspect depicted in the painting is the level of economic development. The two painting show a contradicting level of development, more so economically. From the type of buildings to the type of vessels in the dock, the difference is clearly visible to anyone who has a look at the two paintings. The level of economic development is a very important factor when doing a study of a place, and it is imperative that one studies it keenly, such as when contrasting these paintings. In the A Villa By The Sea, the economic life seems to be struggling, and there does not seem to be much of economic development in the painting.
