In addressing this problem studies have investigated the importance of biodiversity of plants and animals by measuring the abundance of organisms regarding their relative quantity (Haddad et al. 2001). By examining the abundance of organisms we could predict the state of the ecosystem and help guide our maintenance of ecosystems (Betz 2014). The importance of plant and animal abundance on the ecosystem is due to the many symbiotic interactions between these organisms (Rzanny and Voigt 2012). Studies have found a positive correlation between plants and herbivorous arthropods (Castagneyrol and Jactel 2012) and demonstrated that the effect of plant diversity on animal diversity is the relationships between the invertebrates and woody plants in an area.
