World War I speech
Prior to the war Germany, Italy and Austria-Hungary from an alliance while on the other hand Britain, France and Russia form Triple Entente. Though many events are attributed to have caused the war, but the immediate cause was tensions that brew after the assassination of Archduke Franz at Sarajevo, Bosnia. Archduke was heir apparent to Austro-Hungary empire this ignited the war, and the following months the members of the two alliance had declared war to one another (Keegan, 2014). The war began with Schlieffen plan for Germany to invade France through the neutral Belgium and Luxemburg. And within some days the plan had failed because Russia had mobilized her troops within a short period which Germans did not anticipate (Keegan, 2014). The war recorded the ever largest number of causalities over 20 million and since then the warfare has never been the same again.
