Project Management Essay

Organizations have been able to recognize the various advantages of project management and recognition of the positive outcome it has on projects. In my opinion, I believe that there are better definitions of success besides meeting the cost, time and scope of goals. The success of a project depends on various inputs rather than only scope, time and cost. For instance, another definition of success can be attributed to good customer satisfaction, saving on cost and achievement of main objectives in that the investment has produced good returns. I think that it's harder and challenging to assess the success of an IT project compared to a traditional project such as building construction. Therefore, when more time is spent in the planning stage, it helps in reducing the time spent in the execution of the project.
