Logo Design and Style Guide (Use Adobe InDesign App)
You will choose one design company/education institution and redesign/develop its logo and Style Guide. Combine colour, symbols and text to form a unique identity for the brand, with an emphasis on a uniquely Australian, sustainable design. Based on your research, you will also choose an environmental context for the client’s product. You will generate a document that visualises the design and research process involved in creating the logo. The document should include photographs or mock-ups of the application of the logo, in at least one tangible item (ie. on uniform design, vehicle, stationery etc.) in relation to the environmental context that you have selected, as well as a representation of the logo on a sample home-page design for the client. A style guide or style manual is a set of standards for the writing and design of documents, either for general use or for a specific publication, organisation or field. The implementation of a style-guide provides uniformity in the style and formatting of a document. Continuing the logo and branding design exercise, you will create a style-guide or style manual, which will explain the logo application and usage of your logo, for the benefit of both client and third parties. The document will include extensive information on colour combinations, scaling and placement. An understanding of correct usages of the logo in various applications and the standard use of fonts and typography relating to the application should be demonstrated. The style of graphics, photography and illustrations that will be part of the company branding style, should also be included in the style guide. Requirements: Logo specifications: - The logo should be represented in the document in – Black and White, Reverse, Pantone colours and CMYK colours. - The logo should be considered for screen application and shown in a sample home- page for the client. - The logo should be shown on at least one tangible application. such as stationery, vehicle and/or uniform design. - The logo must be a vector graphic, created in Illustrator.
