The episodes of seizures which refer to periods of convulsion unconsciousness and abnormal mental behavior can be unnoticeable lasting for a few seconds or noticeable periods of vigorous shaking (Fisher et al. 2014). The seizures culminate from a sudden surge of electrical activities in the brain and can be focal or generalized and hence the clinical manifestations vary significantly depending on the section of the brain affected (Fisher et al. 2014). Most of the seizure episodes are self-limiting; however they predispose the victims to physical injuries and brain damage if the seizure episodes are prolonged.
