Social Race as a Force in Culture, Segregation, & Discrimination (Example)

Document Preview:

Social Race as a Force in Culture Segregation and Discrimination In biological taxonomy race is described as the taxonomic category of subspecies which is normally not applicable to human beings because the division of humans into types does represent their true biological variation. The classification is based on gene frequencies and observable characteristics. Social race according to sociologists is a concept that is used to define different types of human bodies. Sociologists have recognized long term effects to group people in society based on similar skin color and also their physical appearances. It is therefore necessary to know how social race has acted as a force in cultural segregation and discrimination in different parts of the world and especially in the United States where discrimination and segregation was most dominant. Social race discrimination refers against the equal treatment of blacks and they see themselves as superiors. For example in the video we can see Clyde Seller the police commissioner declaring that bus segregation laws would still be enforced despite massive boycotts from black people. The police play a part in mistreatment of black people when they are supposed to protect them. In the video we also see how Martin Luther King Jr. fights for the rights of black people which results to his house being bombed. However after a long period of boycotts the Supreme Court declares the bus segregation unlawful and black people are able to freely use public buses. Order Description:

Define biological race and social race. Explore the validity of each of these concepts. In the video, you will see how social race was a powerful force in the segregation and discrimination practices in the Southern United States. Using this example, discuss and analyze social race as a force in culture. Critically analyze and address the topic above. You must watch this 55 minute video and use examples from the video in the paper. The video is 55 min long and you must refer to the video in the paper. Please watch the full video in detail. The video would not upload as an attachment, so here is the URL link. Copy and Past it: www.youtube.com In addition to referring to the video for examples, you can use the anthropology chapter 11 power point notes attached, reliable articles and readings, and internet sources if needed, but it is not a research paper, so minimal internet use if possible would be better. Do not write anything about the genocide in World War II because my paper should only relate to social race as a powerful force culture, segregation, discrimination, etc. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you for doing this and I am looking forward to a 100% custom, detailed paper filled with examples, thoughts, meaning, and important issues related to the topic. Remember, you must at least refer to the video in the paper. Thanks again, Ben

Client Review

The writer is not able to write at an undergraduate level, more like a high school level. The grammar was horrible as well. On the positive side i had the writer watch a 45 min video to refer to in the paper and she did it for no extra charge and she finished my paper early which was great. If you are looking for an average paper where you can go in and edit it and change things yourself then this is the way to go. She will give you a great basis for you to work off of.
