Social Race as a Force in Culture Segregation and Discrimination In biological taxonomy race is described as the taxonomic category of subspecies which is normally not applicable to human beings because the division of humans into types does represent their true biological variation. The classification is based on gene frequencies and observable characteristics. Social race according to sociologists is a concept that is used to define different types of human bodies. Sociologists have recognized long term effects to group people in society based on similar skin color and also their physical appearances. It is therefore necessary to know how social race has acted as a force in cultural segregation and discrimination in different parts of the world and especially in the United States where discrimination and segregation was most dominant. Social race discrimination refers against the equal treatment of blacks and they see themselves as superiors. For example in the video we can see Clyde Seller the police commissioner declaring that bus segregation laws would still be enforced despite massive boycotts from black people. The police play a part in mistreatment of black people when they are supposed to protect them. In the video we also see how Martin Luther King Jr. fights for the rights of black people which results to his house being bombed. However after a long period of boycotts the Supreme Court declares the bus segregation unlawful and black people are able to freely use public buses. Do not write anything about the genocide in World War II because my paper should only relate to social race as a powerful force culture, segregation, discrimination, etc. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you for doing this and I am looking forward to a 100% custom, detailed paper filled with examples, thoughts, meaning, and important issues related to the topic.
