Sociologist argue that drinking is a way of bringing together people from different classes together comprising of the all classes, the high lass, the middle class and the low class. In addition, the brands of alcohols used in most cases are dependent on one's wallet capability. Alcohol drinking is an act that dates back to the old ages of the millennium. Our forefathers used to drink alcohol in ceremonies as a way of harmonizing the society and marking important rituals that showed the various rites of passage. In the society, we live in today the reasons as to why alcohol is consumed are best known to those who consume it. A case study in the united states has shown that the consumption of alcohol instigates a number of social, health and economic snags.

This includes cirrhosis, an addition that is a major source of the ensuing violence and cause of family breakdowns, road accidents as a result of careless driving. This forms a basis of our discussion on whether the legal drinking age for alcohol should be raised (Dejong, 2014). In addition, the increasing cases of infertility among the youth is a matter that should not be buried under the hatchet for this case. On the contrary, people will always diverse means of avoiding legislation (Silver,2016). The, in this case, will serve as intermediaries and moreover, some parents who are drinkers will be an avenue for young stars to gain access to alcohol. Thirdly, the notion that people above the age eighteen years can be allowed to vote shows that they are mature. Therefore, raising debate that such [persons should be given room to make independent and personal decisions on the choice of consuming alcohol.
