Solubility Product Constant of an Organic Salt lab report

Document Type:Lab Report

Subject Area:Chemistry

Document 1

The collected data was calculated to get the concentrations for [OH -] and [K+]. Further computations provided the values for each set of solubility product constant and that of sodium hydroxide ionic strength. Plotting the data of KCl indicated that the solutions reduced as the ionic strength increased. The accuracy with which the solution was prepared was critical in getting reliable data. Introduction Titration was used to obtain the solubility product constant, K sp, of potassium hydrogen tartrate (KHT). Titration is carried out to where there faint pink solution, which is also referred as the equivalent point. The procedure is repeated while the data is recorded.
