The elderly are mostly covered by Medicare which gives allowances for inpatient and outpatient services while the poor are covered by Medicaid. Hospitals are well equipped with diagnostic material and prescribed medication that equally provides for a wide range of patients (Healthcare Triage, April 27, 2014). These would include patients who suffer from mental illnesses, acute illnesses or most commonly, chronic illnesses such as diabetes and hypertension.
