With the growing complexities of the healthcare industry, acute care leaders and providers have been constantly under pressure to publicly report patient satisfaction scores to their superior. The article focuses on how nurse leaders have implemented professional practice environments which are inspired by the human caring theory while others continue to utilize scripting in standardizing their communication channels especially between the staff and the patients. This theory is etched on the visions of Florence Nightingale who argued that the role of nurses includes putting their patient in the best positions for self-healing. In other words, nurses are positioned at the heart of healing.
