Week 10 has you writing a Synthesis/Informative paper. The instructions are found in Class Session 10. The Synthesis/Informative paper is explaining the issue using all sides of the problem. You are blending the information you found in your annotated bibliographies so that all sides of the issue are explained. One point to remember though, you are NOT taking a side. Another key point is to not use the words I or you. Think of it like you are a reporter or journalist. You are reporting on all sides of the issue but you are doing so as an observer and not a participant. A reporter does not use the words I or you. The paper should be written in third person. In other words he, she, it, they. See chapters 6, 7, 8 for additional help and the Harris & Kunka book is also helpful when using the section called Academic Writing. Be sure to have a thesis or claim statement in your first paragraph of the paper (not the audience analysis). Include an audience analysis which will be removed from the final draft and does not count as part of the word count. You must have a Works Cited page and there should be 5 sources used but may have more. These should be from the Ivy Tech Virtual Library. Most of the sources you used in the annotated bibliography will probably be used but you may add additional sources from databases other than those on the annotated bibliography, but be sure to include the complete citation. The sources you need to use are in my source document and also used on my annotated bibliography document
