The first benefit the company enjoys is the presence of the digital website which enables it to market and supply its products online. The website is important as it helps Zappos to accomplish its online marketing and supply of the products it produces. Therefore, the online supply website acts as a platform that the firm powers to improve its production process. Due to this strength, Zappos has made a great contribution as far as its manufacturers are concerned. For instance, Zappos has used its online supply website to help the manufacturers to market and sell their products directly to their esteemed customers. For instance, a good selling noticed by the vendor makes him convince the buyers to purchase more of the products available in the inventory.

As a result, Zappos benefits from the profit margin gained. The entire process improves the selling of the shoes thus making sure every product is purchased. In some cases, the extranet helps in making suggestions relevant to the buyers so that future deliveries are reduced. However, weaknesses within Zappos affects the overall supply chain thus hindering its success. As described in the case study, Zappos placed orders with 1400 using different product brands. As a result, the huge shipment would cause a jam at its warehouse after the order is received. The weakness resulted when the information about the supply chain was minimal. This made Zappos deal with the issue of uncertainty to know the specific time to receive the order at the warehouse.
