Cotter, (2002) says, individual phenomenon classify people as poor since they are lazy, ignorant, inferior and uneducated. However, the scenario might be different, several structures can be deployed to counter the cause of poverty through different solutions. The second value structure is a structural phenomenon, people are in poverty since they find themselves in an unsustainable economic system that is characterized by inadequate income. The situation is dynamic since most people will find a better paying job the following year or get a promotion. Therefore, the solution to poverty is via altering the economic structure to eventually reduce the number of low-income earners. Risks of poverty The effects of poverty directly expose a family to several risks, children altogether with adults are mostly affected.
