There are some who are Indian by virtue of biological connection. They do not know most of the of their cultural practices and beliefs because of the following reasons; lack of someone who could have taught them, lack of interests, the high rate of racism, and limited time of pursuing the Indian culture. The traditional Indians stick to their respective cultures by making sure that they are able to speak their language, practice their religious and cultural ceremonies, besides living with their fellow tribes. In addition, cultural identity simply shows the cultural standards of the society to which one belongs. Most of the modern tribal leaders regularly command on how the membership of the tribe is defined which influences on the general distribution of resources such as annuities, besides determining the beneficiaries of the tribal jobs in the society.
