Close analysis of an important speech, read closely and think in depth about the poetics of the play.

Select one passage on which to write a persuasive, detailed analysis. I have attached the passage – Richard III, 5. 3: 178-207: ‘Give me another horse . . . Tomorrow’s vengeance on the head of Richard’. There are several ways to approach this assignment, but the main principle to remember is that you are to analyse, not summarise. One effective way to organise your thoughts is to begin with a paragraph indicating what the passage says, to proceed with a series of paragraphs examining the major poetic properties, and then to conclude with a discussion of how these characteristics help the speech to make its contribution to the play as a whole. Remember that an effective essay will develop an argument about the speech. Think about the passage, its position within the play as a whole, its echoes or reflections in any other plays by Shakespeare. Who speaks before and after? Think about the stage, its dramatic resources, who is on stage, who is speaking, entrances and exits, dead, mute or obscured bodies, props, setting, geography? Think about irony, dramatic or satirical? Think about the movement of the passage you are reading -- what has happened in these lines and how has it been represented? I have also attached a document that will provide a list of poetic devices and topics for you to consider. You are not expected to write on all of them but you are expected to make the judgement about what is acutely relevant and effective in your chosen passage. Assessment Criteria: · Demonstrate writing skills and an appropriate conceptual vocabulary sufficient to enable lucid and persuasive critical arguments. · Respond to questions searching for knowledge of, comparison between, assessment of, and sensitivity to, a wide range of Shakespeare’s works. · Demonstrate close reading and interpretative skills responsive to specified aspects of specific passages. UK grammar and spelling to be used

Why i want to be a paralegal essay
Once first acknowledged to college, I used to be a theatre major with emphasis in performance and research. After one year of these major I realized that Some have the personality type to get on a frequent look out for small jobs. I also would not want to be going constantly. I had fashioned a vague idea of signing up to law institution if theater didn't proceed anywhere to me.After much thought, I noticed that law institution was what I really wanted regarding my life. When the pup is still young I was considerably interested in puzzle novels and law reveals. I was specifically attracted the chosen type of novels that allowed the reader to try to solve the mystery prior to turning to the very last page to see the answer. My favorite television show has become "Law and Order" since the age of 12, however inaccurate it may be.In my opinion that it was partly the appeal to literature and shows like these that planted the concept of being a lawyer..
