This type of movement aimed at separating from the classical and traditional forms. Postmodernism on the other hand just came after modernism in the late 20th century and this movement represented a shift from modernism to earlier styles and conventions. The First World War influenced the modernistic movement while mainly the Second World War influenced post modernistic movement The major difference between the two movements was that modernists them part of a system.
