Reading the policy documents made by other companies on the same topic also gives the policy makers hints on the things that are important, relevant and what to avoid in making similar policies. The second reason is research offers a critical view in regards to theoretical literature and helps researchers in understanding the relationship that exist between policy implementation, formulation as well as scientific knowledge. Extensive academic input in policy making ensures that researchers have a wide range of approaches that they can use in building effective and relevant policies. Theoretical literature helps the researchers in addressing the issues in more effective and traditional perspective which places a bigger relevance on the knowledge production process and complexity in making policies. Theoretical literature also offers individuals a chance to transfer ideas from a wide range of sources.
