He starts with Edison’s biography which points out that there was another frontier in the American world despite that they were taming the western frontier. The frontier seemed more important to America's development than the western. Due to the changes and transformations, which were taking place in America, the communication, telegraph, and transport became more vulnerable. Edison helped in developing investment and business opportunities in the nation through his emphasis on the telephone, business machines, and the development of motion pictures. His father who was very rebellious brought up Thomas Edison in a small American town. At his fourteenth year, the civil war started, and he chose to become a telegrapher since he could not enroll in the army. He made his telegraph line and instrument through the lessons given by James.
