Religion and philosophy, similarly have had their own opinions when it comes to the truth about various things. However, religion has, for years been viewed as a discipline that preys on the ignorance and gullibility of the masses who seek the simplest explanations. It, therefore, comes as no surprise that some of the ideas religion presents lack evidence and are often far-fetched. On the other hand, science usually bases its claims on physical evidence and although it is at times erroneous at the initial stages, it gives humanity the chance to avoid such errors forever, making it closest to the truth. This essay seeks to prove that indeed science is the only way to discover the truth: The origin of the universe has been for more than a century a subject in many discussions and while religion thought it had the answer, physics has consistently disputed its ideas.

This theory, like the other religious theories, lacks evidence and it is clearly the furthest from the truth. On the other hand, scientists have come up with valid theories supported by evidence of how life began. The most popular theory is the one that states that life began with an electric spark. It is possible that lightning provided the spark needed to create life. Based on experiments conducted, scientists have established that electric sparks have the capacity to generate sugar and amino acids from an environment loaded with methane, hydrogen, water, and ammonia. The theory is still in action to date. According to studies, one in two individuals has trouble finding a mate. This could be attributed to the kind of environment the person is in, their physical appearance or their ability to interact.

Apart from this, paleontologists have, for centuries discovered fossils all over the world that support Darwin’s theory, thus validating the theory. Religious leaders have, however, denounced the theory and stood by their own creation theory (Eldredge). Unlike the other disciplines, it employs logical methods and is based solely on facts. Religion, on the other hand, relies on misguided beliefs and blind faith and does not have physical evidence to support its claims. It is therefore important for humanity to embrace science, not only for the sake of improving their lives but also to unveil the secrets of the universe. Works Cited American Bible Society.
