However, according feedbacks and the public opinion the company has not been able to meet the requirement for equality regardless of its effort in fighting such vices in the company. Having been ranked among the top best business in the United States, the company has been increasing its workforce due to expansion beyond the United States. Challenge include reporting system complex (2 pages) According to the statistics, the number of employees in Wal-Mart stores has been increasing progressively but the number of women employees has been declining with time as well as clear evidence that the company does not show equality in payment of men and women in the same levels of the company. This male-oriented higher-level position has been a key factor in influencing company process and policies an indication that the company’s policies were not being well implemented since promotion was not purely determined by performance evaluations as it ought to be. Businesses involves risks and therefore, it is required that sometimes immediate decision are made with much delay in order to help a business recover from an emergency. From the feedback received about the company, it clear that there is so much Public criticism and call for change of management as a way to enhance flow of commands and facilitate faster making of decisions. Furthermore the company experiences duplication of efforts as the same report has to go through various offices before it reaches the top management. The company can therefore, adopt departmentalization system and management reporting that will assist the organization to develop robust business strategies (Phillips & Gully, 2015). The creation of division of employees, there will be greater focus of attention to each store referred to as downsizing by Phillips & Gully (2015). Concerning hiring the new employees the company can adopt filtering of the application on basis of gender and to be more specific at the store level. The application can be further be ranked based on the specific qualification still retaining the gender required and age. This will be an ultimate way to control the numbers of women and men employed in the company at various positions in the company.

A future-oriented job analysis should be a formulated with series of events that will indicate how the decision was reached. Wal-Mart Company bases its culture on three main factors which are respect, service to its customers and strive for excellence. There were two effective rules that helps sustain the culture of Wal-Mart which are rules of passing greetings to a customer when they are near them and attending to requests without postponing. Wal-mart Company discourages disjunctive socialization since their new employees are trained and made known the rules to them instead of being left alone to develop their own interpretation of their position and their situation in the company. The new employees are trained on the culture of the company and orientation and instruction of the culture given to store managers at each management level to ensure that the culture is instilled into its employees so as to strive to meet the expectations of the company on customer satisfaction which is the main focus.

Wal-mart extends its hospitality to the community in which it operates in form of offering scholarship to the members of the community, raising funds for organization and charitable assistances. As explained in the case of Wal-Mart, it was a culture to give the new employees a theoretical exposure through books and videos as a way of preparing them to adapt to the existing working culture of the company including employee employer relationship, employee –employee relationship and how the company is focused in promoting the satisfaction of their customers. This strategy is used by the company as a way of reducing staffing-related lawsuits which usually result from misunderstanding at work place which can be attributed by poor work relations and discrimination on basis of age, gender or nationality.

The Wal-Mart company focused on giving instruction and performing orientation to new managers especially after promotion. In most cases, managers were transferred to other location on promotion hence they had to be oriented to familiarize them with new place of work and also the new position which they assumed. For further ease of management on training needs the company needs to put up seminars and workshops at least as regular intervals in a year as a way of renewing their managerial skills which are very specific to the company. Training is an expensive program but it helps to reduce tie taken for new hires to assimilate into the system without necessary affecting how the business performs. Wal-Mart stores has been able to always achieve good training due to the inclusive nature of the company culture including the extension to charity work and training people to work at their convenience such as home-office employees.

The culture of company is such that during hiring promotion of individuals they are required to accept that they can work in any region. The company achieves this through proper advertisement as a way of attracting diverse candidates thus reducing impartiality in offering job opportunities though this has been a serious challenge on the human resource management since it is not very practicable to have a perfect situation in which the workforce ha equal number of women and men at various level. The reason for this is that people do not always have similar qualifications and this greatly influences their placement (Hrebiniak, 2013). Wal-Mart offers jobs to all groups of people which start from an entry level and this allows them to climb the company ladder from one level to another.

These positions range from cashiers, managers corporate positions and other positions beyond the corporate. Wages have increased for the workers and this aims to improve customer service and encouraging the workers to consider a long term relationship with the company. A number of adjustments have been made including make the dress codes looser, introduction of cash incentives and change in the entertainment sector which they considered bringing back the radio instead of repetitive music each and every day. This is meant to make the employees happy, make them understand that the management heard their complaints and encourage them to work harder towards achieving their goals. Even with the closure of some of its branches all over the country, those who would lose their jobs would still get the bonuses they were eligible to.
