Student’s Name Instructor’s Name Course Code Submission Date The Definition of EqualityIn the recent years the term equality and equity have been introduced to express the need for an environment that puts into consideration every member of the society while giving them a conducive environment for growth. Equality is a term that has been defined differently by different stakeholders. The idea of equality as people understand it is treating people in the same exact manner. People tend to treat equality as being fair with resources opportunities healthcare and education among others. Considering a situation whereby there are three children looking over a fence that is about five feet tall and their heights are three feet three and a half feet and four feet. In order for the children to see beyond the fence they need to be more than five feet tall at least meaning they will need to own unique manner while ensuring that they all succeed. The dictionary definition of the word equality should therefore be revised in order to introduce the aspect of sameness which does not consider diversity. The society and its stakeholders also need to understand the true definition of equality in order to avoid using it in contexts that are unnecessary or impossible. Works Cited Tarasov Arthur.
