The Mis-Education Of The Negro The Mis-Education of the Negro is a book written by an American historian author and journalist known as Dr. Carter G. Woodson and the book was originally published in the year 1833. What is inspired most Dr. Woodson to write this book was the treatment the blacks were receiving in the American schools. He goes ahead to point out the weaknesses of euro-centric based curriculums that sadly do fail to include African American history and culture. This Mis-educates the African American students failing to prepare them for success and to give them an adequate sense of who they are within the system that they must live (Bair 5). Nevertheless Woodson provides various solutions to the problems he identifies. The book contains about eighteen chapters which are vividly discussed by the writer in every detail.
