Most people view agriculture in a positive light claiming that it reduces cases of starvation; however, Diamond has a totally different opinion. Agriculture was not a good move due to various reasons. Firstly, the heavy dependence of starchy crops and grains which lack amino acids and vitamins which are crucial to life. The hunters-gatherers depended on various wild plants and animals which provided a balance for nutrients. Moreover, mono-cropping brought about mass starvation and crop failure. In conclusion, human beings they lived happier lives, free and healthy and had easy lives before they started cultivation. Agriculture is a mistake according to Diamond since it causes starvation, diseases due to lack of proper nutrients and brings about social and sexual inequalities.
