Strategies used by women to win their right to voteName Course Date Introduction The right to vote was not necessarily guaranteed to women before the events of 1912. The rights of women were completely ignored as the woman was considered a wife or a mother and nothing more. There was no law public sentiment or gospel that shielded a woman from these forms of ideological oppression. The right to vote was one of the rights these women were denied based on the gender superiority complex. What strategies did women use to win the right to vote? The first strategy women used to gain their right to universal suffrage was through lobbying. Through the National American Women for rights to vote were far and wide effective to the extent with which it convinced the U.S. Congress of the need for women suffrage. Such strategies include lobbying parades and petitions among others. “Many periodicals and papers by women appeared over the country” (Staton Anthony and Gage 2018). This represents the petitions that women increasingly included in the newspapers and presented to the Congress demanding for their rights to vote. Bibliography Staton Elizabeth Cady Susan B.
