Gerrymandering Institutional Affiliation Student’s Name Gerrymandering Gerrymandering is an unethical practice that politicians use to gain a political advantage over their competitors (Gerrymandering 101 2010). The underlying concept in this case is manipulation of district boundaries. In countries which uphold democratic systems of governance gerrymandering in the districts they are jailed. Therefore a false overrepresentation of districts with many prisons ensues. Coupled with the disproportionate distribution of minorities in prisons prison gerrymandering dilutes the voting power of minorities even more. References Gerrymandering 101 [Video file].
